One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. Their mission is to reforest the planet, one tree at a time. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.
Businesses large and small should give back to their communities. From the very beginning, PHILANDRY has done this as much as possible. We've been able to make donations to Cyndi Lauper's True Colors United, Feeding America and other fine organizations. I say "we" because it's not I who really makes it possible at all. Rather, all of my wonderful customers. And while such efforts continue, I was also seeking a cause to which we could contribute regularly, in addition to the causes chosen several times per year.
After considerable research, I found One Tree Planted and partnered with them so that for every product sold at my online store, a tree is planted in North America. Respect for the environment is important to me. It is why I choose to use predominantly glass and metal in my packaging, contribution as little to plastic consumption and waste as possible. Partnering with an organization that plants trees seems like the perfect extension of that.
